In the struggle of children living in foster or group homes, government funding only provides the basic necessities, and the important "little things" are often not available. Urban Living's KidsWish program provides funding to fulfill wishes for children living in foster home environments, as well as those young people aging out of a foster environment.
These wishes are limited only to the imagination, but might include:
- summer camp
- athletic program costs
- dance lessons
- a birthday party
- new school clothes
- decor for a bedroom

- instrument for band
- tutoring
- prom dress or tux
- yearbook
- class ring
- deposit for an apartment
