The Claridge is a landmark building in the
East Isles neighborhood of Minneapolis. Located on the eastern side of Lake Of The Isles,
the most prestigious in the Chain of Lakes, it is the centerpiece of recreational culture
in the Twin Cities. Built in 1922 in the 19th century Parisian courtyard style, the
Claridge is the most distinctive and elegant building in the Lakes area. It was
constructed astride six City lots from fortress brick totaling more than 50,000 square
feet. It has been easily recognized the past half century by its full decorative Ivy wrap.
The first phase of the conversion, the middle
wing, 2519 Humboldt Avenue South, includes six huge two bedroom units, each with a slate
faced gas fireplace, and both east and west facing windows in the living room and almost
1,500 finished square feet. There are six other two bedroom units of nearly 1,200 square
feet. All twelve condos have balconies overlooking a serene, landscaped courtyard with a

All the improvements and crafts work are local.
Architect Jay Isenberg & Associates has done the site plan. Cabinetry, all selected
native red and white birch and cherry, is crafted by Woodworks. Stone has been chosen from
