Seattle, known as the Emerald City for its green surrounding landscapes, has an ideal location in the heart of the Northwest:  just a 2 hour drive from Portland, Oregon to the south and 3 hours from Vancouver, BC directly north.  A couple hours to the east are the rolling green hills of central Washington, wine country, apple orchards, and the Columbia River Gorge.  To the west of Seattle is the Puget Sound: the gateway to the Pacific, the beautiful San Juan Islands and the Olympic Mountain range.

Seattle is anything but ordinary. It's a place where bike messengers share elevators with world-renowned researchers. Where fishermen have lunch alongside top surgeons. It's a city where the extraordinary is commonplace and commonplace is anything but. And if you look closely, you just might discover that in Seattle there are amazing things happening all around you.

Seattle is a very active city with an open and diverse cultural scene that is always on the cutting edge.  Seattle neighborhoods teem with character, style and culture with hip restaurants, intimate music venues, chic bars and trendy clubs. The people of the Northwest are a fashion forward and trend savvy group who are constantly in search of something new and unique to compliment their lifestyle.  Boasting the largest population in the Northwest (3.2 million in and around Seattle) it is always a main stop for top touring musicians, theater groups, artists and art exhibits.

Seattle is a college and young professional’s Mecca!  With five universities in the city including the University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Art Institute and Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle is full of young and inspired adults.  Businesses such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon.com, Starbucks, and Nordstrom’s are all based out of Seattle and employ thousands of affluent, trend-setting professionals.  With career opportunities abounding and the beautiful surrounding landscape such as Lake Washington and the Cascades Mountain range, it is no wonder Seattle has become home to so many transplants over the last two decades.  Nearly 900,000 adults between the ages of 18-34 live in the greater Seattle area.

From a jet engine to an espresso machine to grunge rock, Seattle's world-changing events have all had a distinct sound. But the symphony doesn't end there. Your visit to Seattle may bring you the sound of an orca blowing as it surfaces, the roar of the crowd at Safeco Field or the near silence of the Olympic rainforest. Come to Seattle and hear for yourself.
